Starting your own business from home can quite possibly be one of the most exciting, fun, and most nerve-wracking times of your life. But it can also be one of the most rewarding.
Look at it like this, most people dream of doing it. And it’s honestly a shame that more people don’t just do it.
In most cases, it’s not about succeeding or failing, it’s about just how successful you can become. Like with anything, it may seem like you are hitting a glass ceiling at certain points.
However, it is just “workplace” memory.
What is workplace memory and how can you overcome it?
Overcoming workplace memory
Workplace memory is just like muscle memory.
You see, if you get in shape for any substantial length of time, then you get out of shape, you can get back into shape easier. This is because of your muscle memory.
You will always be able to obtain that same level of fitness, the height of your physical prowess, you achieved. And you can do it relatively easy.
This “memory” is where the problem lies.
Your body remembers how to get to this level of fitness, but it doesn’t know how to get beyond it. This is because it never experienced a greater level. This “cap” is all it knows. Getting into better shape will be a battle. It will be tough. It will take work. And the worst part is, this is uncharted territory you are trying to get your body to navigate.
This does not make it impossible. It means you have to overcome this memory.
Simple. You just start training your body in a different way. You come at things from a different perspective.
And it’s the same with the glass ceiling when it comes to your level of success. You have to retrain your mind. Workplace memory is a state of your subconscious being. In your last job, you got to a certain point of success, but never past that point.
This means that mentally, you have never tasted the success which you seek. This creates an invisible barrier, a “glass ceiling” if you will.
The way to smash through this glass ceiling is to retrain your mind into being able to tell the difference between reality and falsities. You see, it is false to believe there is a limit to your success. It is a reality that you were limited in your success in the past because your job, in reality, was to make someone else money.
You simply have to see the truth, and more importantly, you have to start believing in the truth.
The truth is, the level of your success is not limited. Because when you work for yourself, your job is to make money for you, not someone else. Therefore, the truth is, the only person standing in your way, is you.
That glass ceiling? It’s all in your mind. The only thing you have to smash is the mold you’ve set for yourself.
